In a recent interview with Charlamagne tha God for his Out of Context series, Lil Baby addressed the prospects of collaborating with Gunna again. When asked about their relationship and the potential for a follow-up to their successful 2018 mixtape Drip Harder, Baby didn’t hold back. “We ain't got no relationship,” he stated, highlighting the distance that has developed between the two artists.

Charlamagne pressed further, referencing claims circulating online that Lil Baby “can’t make hits without Gunna.” Baby responded confidently, “The internet will say anything. You know how many hits I got? So, that don’t even make sense.”

The conversation took an intriguing turn when Charlamagne mentioned Young Thug’s position in their ongoing drama. He asked if Baby would join Thug in the studio if Thug proposed a collaboration. Lil Baby shot this down, saying, “I don’t see that happening,” adding he doesn’t expect Thug to make such a request in the first place.

The tension between the two rappers has intensified since December, when Lil Baby expressed his disdain for “rats” during a performance by instructing his DJ to turn off “Drip Too Hard.” This comment came amid a wave of speculation following Gunna's release from jail earlier in 2023, leading to mixed reactions from Young Thug’s YSL camp. Notably, Thug tweeted in June, “whateva wham say goes,” while his father publicly defended Gunna multiple times, further complicating the narrative.

Lil Baby also addressed a line from his recent track “350,” where he rapped about rats. He dismissed any specific references, stating, “That’s just the Internet, what they gonna create. I talk about rats in every song I had since I started rapping. They just be creating a narrative.”

As fans wait for an update on a potential reunion between Lil Baby and Gunna, it’s clear that the rift is significant. With Lil Baby’s fourth solo album WHAM (Who Hard as Me) set to release on January 3, 2025, the spotlight may just be on him as he continues to carve out his path separate from Gunna.
